A agência de decoração OBI foi realçada peluma das mais prestigiosas editoras do mercado chinês. O livro « French Style Villa », que reúne interiores inspirados no estilo decorativo francês, presenta um dos últimos projetos da agência. Foi para OBI a ocasião de expôr o trabalho e as fontes de inspiração.
Nascimento de um projeto
Transformar um ámplio apartamento de tipo hausmaniano em residência de caráter, foi o desafio inicialmente proposto pelo designer OB. Decidiu divivir em dois espaços de vida o espaço : por um lado os quartos com decoração ceremonial, e por outro lado, os quartos com ambiente mais intimista.
A galaria de entrada, marcial e calorosa, foi uma piscadela evidente a famosa galaria de pinturas do castelo de Malmaison. OB escolheu reunir mobiliário e luminário de estilo Império. Um belo asento em Amboine e com uma rede de palissandra forrada de veludo coral, esses são os pontos culminantes do conjunto. A galaria abre-se numa sala de jantar e na biblioteca. De aí existe um acesso ao escritorio e ao salão. A sala de jantar, onde domina um lustre contemporáneo, é uma sábia mistura de antiguidades, incluíndo um muito belo barómetro Charles X e mobiliário de estilo eclético. A biblioteca, feita por paineis de madeira de estilo clássico, ofrece ao visitante uma linda coleção de estampas de vistas de París. O salão, vasto e luminoso, articula-se ao redor de um eixe central que começa com uma cheminé de marmore e com painel do século 19 e terminar num busto do imperador romano Caracalla. Dum lado e do outro do eixe, reparte-se o mobiliário feito à medida e infeitado com passamanarias sofisticadas.
Os quartos, tal como o espaço «quarto Mestre» com o roupeiro e a casa de banho contígua, foram pensados como uma suite de hotel. Ao bem-estar e a sensação de volúpia que se desprende, graças aos volumes, associam-se os materiais e gradações de cores cinzentas sublinhadas por toques dourados e parma.
Antiguidades do século 18 e 19 francês misturam-se a uma seleção grande de tecidos de editoriais parisienses. O resultado foi um projeto decorativo de estilo firmemente atípico onde sofisticação rima com tradição. A harmonia colorida do sítio, sabiamente pensada pelo designer de interiores OB é um dos elementos mais marcantes da assinatura pessoal.
La singularidad de la decoración de interior francesa
El diseñador OB redactó uno de los prefacios del libro « French Style Villa ». Ahí, expone lo que, según él, es la especificidad de las artes decorativas francesas y lo que es constitutivo de una decoración típicamente francesa.
« France is certainly one of the countries in the world with the strongest tradition in the field of decorative arts. Globalisation has undoubtedly reinforced such specificity with a growing interest in French savoir-faire. The French decorative style, with its centuries-long history, seduces those customers who are more interested in a certain spirit rather than a "total look" for their interior. From the height of French decorative arts – the epitome of which is the palace of Versailles – to the emergence of numerous art movements such as Art Déco, the Empire style or eclecticism, the French have often been trendsetters on the international art scene.
With its rich history and numerous trends, it is thus no easy task to try to define what makes the French decorative style. If, however, one dared to give a definition, one could perhaps talk of a style both irreverent and yet respectful of artisanal traditions. While the English decorative style is often described as eccentric, and the Italian one as traditional, the French style is often associated with harmony. France, indeed, excels in the creation of interiors where classicism and modernity meet without ever clashing with one another. Many agree that the French style is the fruit of the successful blending of elegance and trend with a view to express refinement in every detail.
Even though the French decorative style is resolutely part of a long historical tradition, it is also the fruit of individual experiences. The French style is indeed known and renowned all over the world thanks to great names in the field of decoration. Several generations of interior designers have contributed to shape its reputation. The rearguard, made up mainly of forty-something "dandies", is now looking to free itself from its dogma. Many blend decorative genres, break away from traditional lines and ensembles and dare to use colour – in order to step away from the abiding good taste that is the hallmark of the French decorative style. It is yet again the opportunity to demonstrate that there is no such thing as a single French school of decoration, but rather a common culture nurtured by a variety and multiplicity of influences. »
